Okay, I have a few different e-mail accounts. This is hardly unusual. One of them is used as nothing much more then a throwaway e-mail address to give to various sites that "require" an e-mail.
So in consequence, that e-mail account gets a fair bit of spam and detritus. (It should surprise no one that this is a Yahoo account.)
Anyway, I still regularly check that e-mail account because there is that rare 'diamond in the rough' e-mail that requires attention.
This was not the case today.
However, I noticed something. On trying to go back to the main Yahoo page to look at news articles (yes, I go to Yahoo for news. I also go to CNN, Google, USA Today, and a few other sites.), I was queried as to whether I wanted to navigate away because there were people who wanted to chat with me.
You see, this little window opened up, and there are names of people (almost certainly not their real names) who want me to add them to my Yahoo Messenger friends list (or something like that) so we may chat later.
All the names are female.
Now, I hold no illusions about myself. I am not a handsome man. I do not have a sparkling personality. And, most importantly, I do not recognize these names AT ALL. So, odds are it's an automated process to get my account information or direct me to porn sites, or something along those lines.
And yet, I am tempted to add them just so I can respond to them with "Tits or GTFO."
What?
It should have long been obvious that I am not a nice person. :P
