Roughly 80 percent polled think SCOTUS screwed the pooch on recent decision.

So yeah, that recent SCOTUS decision (5-4 along the classic conservative/liberal split) that allowed corporations and unions to spend as much as they want to on influencing political campaigns?

Turns out, 80% of citizens (polled) are against it. Pretty good support across party lines too... 85% against it among people who identified as Democrats, 81% against it for people who identified as Independents, and 76% against it for people who identified as Republicans.

Now, is this going to make any Republicans in the House and Senate think twice before trying to shout down any legislation to curtail corporate spending? Maybe. McCain, even though he's struggling against his challenger in the Republican primary, was notable in saying that Americans would be against this SCOTUS decision, and hey, he was right. So, he'll probably vote for such legislation. There will possibly be a few others. We'll have to see. (I don't expect that jackass McConnell to vote for it, nor do I expect anything from either of the South Carolina Senators.)

From the what in the world goes on in my brain category:

You know the Disney version of "Jack and the Beanstalk"? The one with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy (whatever the heck Goofy is) in it?

You know the song the giant sings? "Hi Ho Ho Hum, Fi Fie Fo Fum..."

Imagine that, being sung by Scatman Crothers. (The guy who did the voice of Hong Kong Phooey.)
