No joke: South Carolina now requires ’subversives’ to register

Okay, let me see if I have this right. If you're a subversive group planning on overthrowing the United States government, you have to register with the South Carolina Secretary of State. (Apparently, each member has to register individually.) There's a $5 filing fee. Presumably, this only applies if you're setting up shop in South Carolina, not if you're trying to overthrow Yanqui imperialism in, say, Georgia.

If you don't register, and they catch you here in South Carolina, there's up to a $25,000 fine and 10 years in the pokey.

If you do register.... what happens then? Do they just stamp the form, and say "Have a nice day!"? (To which the subversive should reply "Thank you, capitalistic dog!") Or do they immediately turn you over to the Feds?

Please note: South Carolina is also one of the states that requires drug dealers to declare their income from illegal drug sales or face additional penalties if and when they are caught.
