THE FIX WAS IN LADIES AND GENTS.

John McCain's Pennsylvania communications diector told reporters in the state an incendiary version of the hoax story about the attack on a McCain volunteer well before the facts of the case were known or established -- and even told reporters outright that the "B" carved into the victim's cheek stood for "Barack," according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions.

That's a direct copy from [livejournal.com profile] flemco's (aka "poutine") journal.

Now, here's my thoughts on this. I don't think anyone in McCain's camp was behind this woman's story or encouraged her to do this. (It's pretty obvious now that the 'victim' in this case has some serious mental problems and probably did this to herself.)

McCain's PA communications director was probably just hoping to stir the racism angle a little in the hopes of helping get his guy elected. This actually makes his actions more scummy, but hey, it's not that shocking considering some of the other crapola that's come out of the McCain campaign thus far.

And remember...
