Predictions for New Hampshire
Jan. 8th, 2008 11:06 amDemocratic side: Obama. Clinton needs a win here, but she's not going to get it. Between minor campaign problems and the media starting to eat her alive, she's at best going to get second place in New Hampshire, which is really going to fuck her standing in South Carolina and the Super Tuesday states.
Republican side: McCain. Shockingly, the latest polls show him kicking Romney to second place. Huckabee's in third, but it's not as critical that he win New Hampshire as it is for Romney.
Drop-outs: Bill Richardson, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel... any of these three could drop out after New Hampshire, and let's face it... if they get a dismal showing here, they probably should. It's too much to hope that Guiliani will be shit on so hard by New Hampshire voters that he would drop out, but it's possible that we could see the last of Fred Thompson here. Honestly, though... I expect most candidates to stick it out until at least the South Carolina primaries later this month (they're not on the same day, though). By the end of Super Tuesday, we'll only have two or three candidates left in each party.
