Okay, I like picking on Bush
Dec. 30th, 2005 08:59 amHe makes it easy. But I don't limit it to Bush. I pick on stupid politicians, stupid actors, etc. There was a point when it seemed like there was no way any one person could keep up with the inanities that Paris Hilton was involved in. It's just that Bush seems to have been going out of his way to do as many bone-headed things as possible lately. Or even not so lately, considering that the NSA wire-taps have been going on for quite some time.
But just so we're clear here... it wouldn't matter if he hadn't done a single thing bad in the past, and if he was otherwise an exemplary President. The minute he decided he didn't need judicial review on those wiretaps... well, that shit is wrong. And here's what really bothers me... if he was using this to listen in on conversations that terrorists were involved in, then why didn't he get judicial review? I mean, it's a no-brainer.
Obviously, he had to ask himself a certain question.
It's too bad that Nixon kicked off back in 1994. I'm sure he would have some good advice for Bush...
