Some Papers Pull, Edit 'Doonesbury' Strip
Gist of this is, the Doonesbury version of Bush refers to the Doonesbury version of Karl Rove as "Turd Blossom", which apparently offends or scares some editors to the point where they either blank out those words, or not show the strip at all.
Okay, what's the problem, you say? Surely they have that right? Well, I might agree... if Gary Trudeau was making up this nickname.
He's not.
One of the President's nicknames for Rove is indeed "Turd Blossom", which is a Texan term for a flower that grows from a pile of dung. (Appropriate, considering the amount of bullshit in the current administration.) So apparently, newspaper editors are worried that a term that the President actually uses might be offensive to readers. Of course, many of the terms the president uses are offensive, like pretty much anything he says concerning the war in Iraq...
Still, who knew editors were so squeamish?
