While I slept, the world went away.

I don't know how it happened or why, or why I'm the only one left. The radio doesn't get anything but dead air, the tv is nothing but static. No people on the streets, no animals wandering lose.

I drove out to the zoo, and the animals were gone from their cages and pens. Cars were stopped on the highway, most of them crashed as if the people driving had gone away while they were moving.

I saw smoke in the distance, and thought it must have been set by someone. It was only some kind of electrical fire, I guess. With no firefighters to stop it, most of one block went up in flames.

I don't know what I'm going to do when the power goes out for good, if I'm even still here when that happens? Was it a mistake that I was left behind? Was it on purpose?

I raided a pharmacy for No-Doz. I don't want to sleep. I don't want to know what else will be gone when I wake up.
