Evolution is a crock
Aug. 13th, 2004 11:13 amDon't take that to mean that I don't believe in evolution. I do. I believe that life will evolve to fill an ecological niche, to better support itself in its surroundings, etc.
I just don't think it's all that it's cracked up to be.
Let's take a look at a chimpanzee:

What does it take to keep a chimp happy? One would assume food, a mate, and shelter from inclement weather. Probably not much else.
What does it take to keep me happy? A hell of a lot more. Food, shelter, decent tv programs, good books, computer games, a nice internet connection, cute redheads in french maid outfits, I could go on and on...
That's the problem with an evolved intelligence. We get bored. I mean, you never see a chimp sitting around twiddling his thumbs, do you?
Sometimes, I think things would have been a lot better off if we'd never come out of the trees.
