Been one of those nights at work... where I'm trying to get all the ugly jobs out of the way so the morning crew (aka 1st shift) won't have too much of a problem with the one job that I'm probably going to have to leave for them to run....

Which, of course, is the one that I've been converting file types on all night, off and on. Note: 18 inch x 24 inch, 300 dpi .TIFF files are not your friend. Nor is converting them to .PDFs easy at all when you have to do it one at a time.

At least there were no "omigod, I forgot my wedding/bar mitzvah/sorority rush/church retreat is tomorrow, and I need all kinds of help" crap jobs. I may procrastinate myself on some things, but I tend to think if I was getting married, I'd have the programs printed sometime a bit earlier then 6 hours before the wedding.

SWG is out

SWG of course, is Star Wars Galaxies, a game that has been highly anticipated, not only among MMORPG players, but Star Wars fans.

Too bad it sucks.

No space travel. Yet. Wait for the expansion, which you get to pay for. Even though the space travel part was supposed to be part of the game.

Last I heard, you were limited to one character per server. Which means that if you royally hose your character in terms of skills or whatever, either start on a different server, erase the character and start over, buy another copy to play on the same server, or suck it up.

It's been "up" for a couple days, and they've already had big problems with people not being able to log in, play on servers, etc. The only part that seems to be working as advertised is the Billing Department.

Oh yes, and it's $15 a month. Down to $12 a month if you pay for a year at a time. Odd, I play DAOC for like $10 a month, IIRC.

Oh yes, and it's a Sony/LucasArts game. Sony, those wonderful uncaring bastards who brought us EQ. And we know all about the fun there. About the only bright light in this whole thing is that by now, some of the slugs they have working in Customer Support will be able to invalidate names that violate the TOS in a heartbeat.
