Bless me Father, for I have sinned.

I watched Underworld yesterday. Not the sequel, the original.

My God, what a turkey. White Wolf should not have sued over IP infringement. They should have instead demanded a notice at the beginning of the movie that "This is not based on anything White Wolf Games has done. No way. Our stuff is better, even if only marginally."

Now, okay, I'll grant you, Kate Beckinsale is hot. But one hot chick does not a movie make. There are so many plot holes, dropped threads, and just outright badness that I'm surprised I sat through the whole thing. For example: The werewolves (excuse me, Lycans) have "daylight bullets" that are used at the beginning of the movie, and seen later in the movie, but the only manage to drop one vampire with them. At the beginning of the movie. The "Death Dealer" faction of vampires seems largely ineffective as actual combat-trained personnel, relying on volume of fire and a lucky grenade blast to take care of most of their enemies. Of course, the werewolves are even less effective, considering the final battle is taking place on their turf. Apparently, no one ever taught anything about tactics and ambushes. I mean, they should know that area like the back of their hand, but what it comes out as is just like a replay of the opening scence of Star Wars: A New Hope, where the obviously outgunned and outclassed Rebels are mowed down in a corridor by Stormtroopers who can (at the only real time in the Star Wars movies) correctly aim and fire.

I'm glad I didn't waste money on this in the theater.

Oh, and on a side note, Ultraviolet looks especially bad as well.

Thank GOD!

I thought I was the ONLY person in the universe that thought that movie stunk!

You're not.

There were parts that were good. As I said, Beckinsale was hot. Don't know that I'd cast her as an assassin of werewolves, but as an excuse for her to spend most of the movie in skin-tight black clothes, it was okay.

The weapons expert vampire in the basement had potential, but they dropped it.

The casting on Victor was perfect.

Other then that.... eh...

Appears, me three. It was a pretty movie in a way that most these modern teen horror movies are. I watched it once, no will to ever see it again. And I can't even remember that Beckinsale looked like, so couldn't have been a girl for my taste.

Werewolf were so ineffective, and vampires even more so. Yuck. Interview With a Vampire was better with WoD lore than this one.
