I had this thought for the new Cam Chronicle...

That I would re-create the Tzimisce as a bloodline, so I can determine, once and for all, the sole arbiter of it, how the name should be pronounced.

That...

...is a *swell* idea.

Wonderful.

If I get NST, that alone is a good enough idea for me to allow it.

Provided, of course, that you pronounce it the way I want... :)

Well, I was thinking of pronouncing it "Fernando", but that seems a little too far-fetched. So it falls back to the 'tz' sounding similar to the cz in czar, the 'im' sounding like it's spelled, and the 'isce' sounding like geese only with no 'g'.

In other words, the right way.

Right now, I'm thinking of it as a Gangrel bloodline.

Animalism, Protean, Resilience and a revamped Vicissitude. (Yes, Protean and Vicissitude. I'm fucking mean that way.)

Of course, my revamped Vicissitude would not have a zulo form or the fleshcrafting/bonecrafting crack. I'm thinking more along the lines of more self-shapeshifting options like adding to disguise rolls, or granting temporary armour in the form of hardening the outer layers of skin, to taking on limited material properties of the environment around them.

You sure about that...?

You sure about Gangrel as the base Clan for this bloodline?

I mean, it works, but I would think that the Ventrue as a base clan would work better. I guess it all depends on where geographically you want the new lineage to sprout from. If they are to be undead "masters of the night", the Ventrue is a good base to start with...that, and the Ventrue are completely shanked on bloodlines already. Ooooo...a bunch of consanguineous bloodlines that amount to nothing more than extended families, and those freaky nutjobs, the Malkovians.

Speaking of nuttiness, that's another thing that makes the Ventrue a good choice, IMHO. Ventrue get nuttier as they get older.

Do you recall *ever* seeing a Tzim with it "all together" in the head?

Well, the bloodline weakness could be along the lines of the Ventrue clan weakness. That's always workable.

The idea I had for it being a Gangrel bloodline is that Protean already has some shapeshifting powers, and the new Vicissitude would refine those powers. I mean, let's face it, Protean is an eclectic lot of powers... melding with earth (or water, wood or stone as well), growing claws, turning into a wolf/bat/whatever, and turning into mist.

What I want to see for Vicissitude (at least my take on it) is more of an awareness of what changes can be made to a character's own body. I dislike the idea of putting fleshcraft and bonecraft back in as attack powers (i.e. fleshcrafting an opponent to be blind, etc.) but I'm all for letting it be used to add to personal offensive and/or defensive options.

I may even have the bloodline discipline of Vicissitude replace Protean and pick up another common Discipline instead. I don't know at this point... although I should have a rough outline of Vicissitude up in a week or so.

Anyway....

If you decide on Gangrel as a base, I'd be glad to hop on board with you. One of my two concepts is a Gangrel that was created in Eastern Europe. We're geographically close, so we could network there...

...and I'm still looking for a sire.

Oh...and if my Ventrue argument changes your mind about base clan, I'll still cheer for you, but I wouldn't be able to join up, since my other concept is a Nossie. But, I'd still be interested in linking histories.
