Huh... that didn't take long

The Secret World is going to move to a "no subscription fee required" model.

Pretty much like every other game that has done this, you still can pay a subscription fee to get additional things. (Free points/month in their in-game store, in-game store discounts, etc.)

Hmmm, I hadn't heard of this one. Is it a real MMO like WoW or SW:TOR or more of a browser based game? Mr Puppy and I are wandering, lost, in search of a game to take all of our spare time. We both dropped out of WoW during the Panda Beta (boring), and are kinda playing SW:TOR in the free form.

Real MMO.

Modern-ish world.

Secret societies, undead, Cthulthu-like references (don't recall seeing an elder sign anywhere), monsters, things "man was not meant to know". Was fun, but when I left it was because I had finished the main storyline after less then a month of play (I'm sure they've added more).

You have full control over your character development, in that whatever skills you want to pick up (provided pre-reqs are met), you can get them.

You can start using shotguns, decide that's not your thing and move to pistols or elemental magic or big hammers.
