And another thing

It used to be that when people felt the need to bicycle on the sidewalks, they were kind enough to say "On your left!" so you wouldn't freak the fuck out when they sped past you. (At least, the non-douchebag cyclists.)

That appears to have gone the way of the dodo.

And if I ever catch that one son of a bitch who was riding a moped down the sidewalk, I will deal with him appropriately.

Twice now while walking at lunch, cyclists have barreled down the sidewalk forcing ME to move... and there's a GIANT bike line right there next to it.

As someone who used to have to bike to work everyday, I have a visceral reaction to side with the cyclist, in part because sometimes you shout "ON YOUR LEFT!" at someone and they just keep on walking like they're admiring some particular cloud in the sky, and also in part because there are some roads where riding in the street alongside the cars is the closest I've ever come to playing chicken with horrible injury. The logical side of me, however, is forced to admit that, yes, there are some seriously douchebag cyclists out there.
