I'd say no. BT is going the way of the DoDo as far as piracy is concerned. Too easy to track/rat.

Either the RIAA or MPAA (I forget which) recently admitted, in a leaked document, that most piracy now is taking place via sneaker-net.

I'd think that'd be way too big of a pain in the ass for Americans. It's probably popular overseas.
