More COH goodness

Thanks to someone on the Catacombs boards, I can now (indirectly) convert .tga files to .jpgs. And thanks to Photobucket, I can post them screenshots just a wee bit easier now.

That being said:

It is, btw, a very fun game, even if certain costume options (capes, trenchcoats, etc.) aren't in the game yet. (I've also discovered my character's theme music. Cash's version of "Personal Jesus". I seem to do much better when it's playing.)

Tell me of this game...

And what is needed to play it... Must I download something? buy a subscription?

Get a non-dialup connection?

:)

It is a subscription based game, so you not only have to purchase the game (from Best Buy, Electronics Boutique, etc.), but there is a monthly fee charged. (Although you get a month free with the purchase of the game.)

Many of the existing MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) are fantasy/medieval based. Examples of these include Everquest and Dark Age of Camelot. City of Heros, on the other hand, is a modern day Superhero based game. Your character is a superhero in a city full of superheros. You are in Paragon City, biggest and most powerful city on North America. It is a year (or just a bit more) after a devastating alien invasion has destroyed many major population centers, and rebuilding is still going on in some areas of the city. Also, most of the very powerful heros from before the invasion are dead, killed by the invaders. There are a handful of them left, but they are very busy. (You can find a lot more information about the game at The City of Heros (http://www.cityofheros.com) main site.

I assume you can play with a dial-up connection, but I have broadband, and it seems to work much better. It's not, thus far, a twitch fest like a lot of the shooting games, but if you have really sucky dial-up, it could be a problem at some points.

Found you from... I think it was mock the stupid, I liked that icon and then you seemed to have some same interests as I do. So hello. *me waves*

I have CoH but I lack people to play with usually, I'm on Infinity atm. Which server are you playing on?

[identity profile] kierthos.livejournal.com 2004-05-13 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm on Pinnacle. It's been pretty fun so far, although I've only just made 13th level. I'm already in a super-group, as it was something that several people planned from the beta testing of CoH.

Feel free to look at the rest of my posts here.

I kind of did read some already heh, would you mind if I add you to my friends? I am also in a SG with a couple of friends on Infinity, but it just always seems there isn't anyone to group with. I have one level 9, level 8 and level 7 - I have a bad habit of having many alts since I keep feeling the need to try out everything (bad lil me).

Ooo and forgot to say I loved that fiction bit posted 09:56am 28/04/2004. I'll red further into past later :D.

Feel free to add me to your friend's list. And, oh yeah, I've made several alts as well. My current main character is a Dark Miasma/Dark Blast Defender that seems to be working quite well.

Added... and I have one of those as well, but on Justice where some more people I kind of know are playing. It seemed like it could work well, but I haven't got around trying past level 2 *lol*. My "mains" I like are empathy/psi defender, dark/dark scrapper and assault rifle/device blaster (I've found out it's very cliche already but ohh so fun, I like my big guns in games).

Mhm I need to get some pics up, I always take a screenie from the log in just to show my chars off - people always seem to want to see what others have made.
