Incidentally...

Lord of the Rings Online went to a "Free to play" model on the 10th.

IF you choose to download it, once it is done downloading, go to your Control Panel and turn Pando Media Booster (which is installed with the download) OFF. Otherwise, it will continue to be a suck on your bandwidth.

Not seeing it anywhere... don't recall if I already uninstalled it or what... but have been playing for a while now.

*nod* I installed LOTRO yesterday, but today I noticed my normal web-browsing was a ton slower, and so was COH, so I checked my network connection, and sure enough, it was using a chunk of bandwidth on something. Once I tuned off the Pando Media Booster, that bandwidth drain stopped.

I'm pretty sure it was just doing P2P for other people downloading LOTRO, but at least I have my normal connection speed back.

I started to grab that on Saturday, then I noticed it was 10 motherfucking gigs for the high rez version and the server was only giving me 500k/sec.

Screw that noise. Wait five hours for something I probably won't even like.
