South Carolina state legislators have approved a measure to raise the per pack cigarette tax from seven cents to fifty cents. (Wow... taking it from the absolute lowest tax per pack in the U.S. all the way to the 42nd lowest.
Of course, Sanford is saying he'll veto it, but it was approved 41-1, so they should be able to override that veto if it comes to it.
