Columbia City Councilman thinks it would be a good idea to sue the Salvation Army to stop them from running a soup kitchen for homeless people.

This would be the same Councilman who was taken to task by the local free paper (The Free Times) for not paying property taxes, and apparently needs to instruct his employees to not sell alcohol to minors. (Of course, given that he's a City Councilman, I doubt that business is going to lose its license to sell booze.)

Opponents say the soup kitchen will bring crime, lower property values and cause existing businesses to lose customers and eventually flee the area.

Translation: We hate smelly people, it will scare away the yuppies. I love money. Fuck the poor. I want to sell my house at a profit some day and escape this cesspool.
