I hate Daylight Savings Time
Here I am working an extra hour tonight (and damn well getting paid for it), but I'd much rather be looking forward to going home in an hour rather then the two hours it's going to be. Assuming, of course, that the next shift shows up on time, which, when measured against the test of history will show at least one of them will come in an hour late, instead of an hour early.
Add that in to the normal high levels of stupidity shown by the customers who let another Sunday sneak up on them, in their mad rush to complete their church programs (by my estimate, there are 9,416 churches in Columbia, SC alone. At least that's what it seems like. And each one has an anniversary every two months), or by the two people who needed wedding programs for their ceremonies to be held 12 hours or less later in the day... or just the generally incompetent people who seem to wander into here, and tonight has just been loads of fun...
Spend the first several hours getting a rush job of around 100,000 pages printed, and called the number (because they said "Call when done, even at 3 a.m.), and got an answering machine. The job is still here. I suspect it will be here later in the day, after I have gone home.
Then there were the aforementioned stupid people, including the ones who insist on calling on what must be the world's shittiest cell-phone, while traveling in their car, with the windows down, the radio on, and they need directions to the store from wherever the fuck they are.
Way to time it guys... if you'd called even an hour earlier, you would have been able to talk to someone who owns a car and can give good directions. But then, why wait until Saturday night to make copies when you can come in way too fucking early Sunday morning and be puzzled by those odd runic characters on the copy machine (you know, like 1, 2, 3, etc.)
Plus, some of our pricing has gone up, even from what it was earlier in the week (not on actual copies, but lamination, and shit like that), and every customer seems to think that (1) not only is it part of a conspiracy to keep them, their church, or their race down, but (2) I am the instigator of said conspiracy, and will soon be rolling in the millions I collect off of services that have gone up in price a grand total of $0.50.
These fucks are so clueless they'll probably vote for Strom in the next election...
*sigh*
I may Ellis a bit later, just to relieve some stress...
