Oh noes!

Crooks are using Twitter.

This is news.

Because crooks never used MySpace, or Facebook, or LiveJournal, or Instant Messenger, or even web-pages or e-mail or fax machines or phones before now.

Why, we went straight from the halcyon days of yore, where you had to be face to face with someone to scam them, straight to 140 characters or less of fake Viagra pills and porn sites that steal your credit card information.

I mean, okay, sure, it's informing the generally dense public that "hey, don't automatically trust every link you see on Twitter", but really... after all the scams of the past... after dodgy "Nigerian" princes offering millions of dollars to whoever checks the fax machine, up through "real live sexy girls just a click away" in IM, to all the crap and spam and more spam (sorry, lost the thesaurus) in e-mail and web-pages... if people haven't learned by now...

They're not going to learn.
