Not nearly enough time!

Sotomayor confirmation hearings to begin on July 13th. Which, you know, even though that's just over a month away, apparently isn't nearly enough time for the Republicans to figure out how assholish they're going to be over the whole thing.

I mean, name me another job where you can say "Hey, a month from now, in between the fat-bastard breakfast and the three-martini lunch, I have to make a decision." and in the same breath complain about how it's too soon to make that decision.

Jesus Christ, no wonder the government sucks so much. By the time the confirmation hearings happen, they'll have had a month and a half since Sotomayor was announced as Obama's choice for Supreme Court Justice, and holding the confirmation hearing then.... that's perceived as jumping the gun?

WHAT THE FUCK?

Their main issue is that they want to go over her record. It's something like 4000 cases, a number of speaches and a lot of articles.

Now for the last guy, his case list was significantly less; on the order of 500 cases. Which means that in the time they had, they only had to go over six cases a day. (It was the Dems doing the major review then.)

Now, to do that same workload level, it would take ~600 days. Which ain't gonna happen. They're pissed because they have to actually work.
