Looking at computers again

This is one on Dell's site....

Dell Inspiron 530

Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB)
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Service Pack 1
No Monitor
3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 4 DIMMs
500GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
16X DVD+/-RW Drive
ATI Radeon HD3650 256MB
Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio

$649.

Is this a good deal?

I'd say so, aside from Vista being suckass.

If I were you I'd go to tomshardware or some other site and look for a benchmark/review of that ATI card. It can be tough to keep up these days. Might be a POS.

Rest of that system is pretty pimp.

I hear you on Vista. The problem is, XP can only address so much in the way of memory AND it's a pain in the ass finding new computers with XP on them. (Or at least, it seems that way.)

If I do get a computer with Vista on it, you can be damn sure I'm going to turn off as much extraneous crap as I can.
