Well, this is just so enjoyable

Woke up last night to go to work, and I couldn't stand up. Well, I could, but I would fall back over again. Worst dizzy spell I've ever had.

Basically, if I wasn't lying down and had my eyes closed, the room felt like it was spinning. I had to call out of work because it's not like I can do my job while lying on the floor with my eyes closed. I'm pretty sure the customers would feel neglected (poor lost things that they are when they can't find a start button on a copier).

It's mostly gone now, but I have no idea what caused it. I'm just hoping it doesn't happen again tonight.

Edit: Is it possible to get the flu in the summer?

Yeah, can be a flu/cold or even allergies, where you get the infection in your middle ear. Had it happen in basic training. Was feeling fine and then woke up in middle of night, nauseous as all hell. Tried to stand up and fell over. Duty sergeant wouldn't let me go to medical and later that night, my ear drum burst. That got rid of the dizziness but I had puss and blood dripping out of my head. At formation, my drill sergeant yelled at me for bleeding on my uniform and then sent me to hospital. A few days on antibiotics and I was fine.

So, yeah, you could have picked up a simple infection in one ear but rather than burst ear drum, maybe it drained down the eustachian tube? I have a problem with my eustachian codes blocking up. Made diving real difficult.

Dude. Doctor.

Seriously.

That's the thing.... 24 hours later (i.e. now) the problem is almost entirely gone. I still have a bit of a headache, but that's nothing unusual on a Saturday night for me. No real dizziness or nausea left at all.
