if you pay a chick to have sex with you it's prostitution and illegal.

if you pay a chick to have sex with you ON FILM and you then distribute the movie with a title like "naughty asian college co-eds 9" then it's perfectly fine and a legitimate business.

See, there's a legal loophole there. What you're doing is paying her for her participation in the film/buying off the film rights/whatever from the aforementioned naughty asian college co-ed.

Hell, what hookers need to do is sell condoms for however much and then offer as a free service an 'in-house demonstration'.

The fact of the matter is, the U.S. is collectively hung up on sex. And the bible-thumpers and fundies of the country seem to think that if prostitution is legal, then we're all going to go out and get our wing-wangs squeezed and abandon our families for Dixie who can do that thing with her tongue.

You know what? It wouldn't happen. Sure, there would probably be a surge in traffic from horny guys who can now visit a professional without having to worry about paying a fine or going to jail.

But it's not like the U.S. became completely inebriated once Prohibition was lifted, or every woman went out and had her uterus scraped once abortion was made legal.

Hell, making prostitution legal would solve a number of problems... there could be legislation concerning mandatory health checks... as a legitimate business, they would have to pay taxes... hell, they could have retirement accounts...

But no, we can't have that. Gotta keep that old-fashioned puritanism going.
