It's been confirmed by the manager

Yes, I do indeed have the last half of October off. This is going to be the longest vacation I've taken since I started working at Kinko's, almost six years ago.

And no, right now, I don't plan on going anywhere. One part of that is that I really can't afford to go where I want to go, and the other is that I don't want to go where I can afford to go. Plus, the lack of a car really puts the kibosh on most vacation plans.

So, in other words, for the last half of October, my ass will be sending down taproots into my computer chair. :P

I would have rather seen if you could have just cashed in the vacation. Or continue to let it accrue.

I can't cash it in and work the same hours. At least, not any more. Last year, I did that (cashed in 40 hours or so for some extra cash), but apparently my manager at the time (he's now at another store) got in a bit of trouble over that.

Plus, I have about 205 hours of vacation time right now. By the time I take this vacation, I will have at least 210 hours. I will be using about 88 of them. I will still have three weeks of vacation time after I take this time off.

The longest vacation I've ever had from the job was for a week. And it was last year. The second longest vacation was for a weekend. I really just want to take some time off and decompress. Because I need to. I'm pretty much back to being the only full-time third shifter at the store again, with all the attendant joys that brings.
