Well, that was fun....
The power went out when I was in the elevator. I was stuck in there for only 10-15 minutes, if that long.
Turns out that at one of the nearby construction sites, a crane either dropped a wrecking ball through a power line, or into a transformer. Either way.... no power for a number of blocks.
So, I get out of the elevator and decide to seek out food, as I am hungy. My initial plans, before the power outage, had been to go around the corner and get a super-burger. But that place has no power either. So, I head down to where I work (FedExKinko's) to see if they have power, because if they do, the Wendy's next door will too. Nope, they don't. But about 15 minutes after I get there, the power is back on, and food is obtained. (Not at Wendy's. All their food prep stuff was warming back up and would take about 20-30 minutes to be ready.)
Anyway, while I was at Kinko's, people kept coming in. We have no power, and they're coming in and wanting to place orders or get work done. WHAT THE FUCK? Can't you observe the lack of power? I mean, at that point, we didn't know how long the power was going to be out. Some people are fucking idiots....
