It's not.

Because you see, if he isn't saying that prostitution, cocaine and heroin should be legalized, he's saying he wouldn't have voted for the Civil Rights Act. So he's not getting the straight-laced Republican voters, and he's not getting the black Republican voters either.

So the question is not "Will Ron Paul get the Republican nomination?"

The question is "Once he doesn't get the Republican nomination, will he run as a third-party candidate?"

And I think he will, much to many people's dismay.

As a side note, I do agree with Ron Paul that prostitution should be legal. As George Carlin put it "Selling is legal. Fucking is legal. Why isn't selling fucking legal?" Because then you could regulate that shit, and ensure health care and STD testing. (Of course, if there is anyone who could fuck up legalized prostitution, it's the federal government.)
