So, for those who don't know....
Sep. 5th, 2010 03:00 amCraigslist has dropped it's Adult Services section... at least if you're viewing it in the United States. If you're viewing it in Canada, well, it's still there.
You see, around a dozen and a half state Attorneys General thought that the Adult Services section on Craigslist was bad, mmmkay? And we can't have bad things on the Internet.
Never mind that the instances of child prostitution on Craigslist were largely apocryphal. Never mind that the closing of the Adult Services section has done, well, nothing to stop the online prostitution/escort advertisements on Craigslist, as they've mostly moved over to the Personals section.
And never mind that other sites (like Backpage.com) exist as well. Those state AGs have DONE SOMETHING. Probably "For The Children". And they should feel good, for the 1/20th of a second that they actually made a difference.
