Remember "Return of the Jedi"? Sure you do.

Made an ass-ton of money. Even before the re-release. And the re-re-release. Worldwide in ticket sales (not adjusted for inflation), it made $572 million dollars.

That's not counting VHS and DVD sales.

And yet David Prowse, who played Darth Vader (James Earl Jones, however, was the voice of Vader) gets notices saying that he's getting no residuals from Return of the Jedi because it hasn't made a profit.

He complained about that. Honestly, anyone would. Over half a billion dollars in box office sales for a movie made in 1982 on a budget of $32.5 million, and it hasn't made a profit. Again, not counting DVD sales, VHS sales, associated merchandise sales.

But there's no profit.

Oh, and since David Prowse complained about this... he's no longer welcome at any Lucas Film/Star Wars events.
