I don't always remember my dreams. I understand that's fairly normal for most people.

But I've had this one recurring dream that I do remember, going on six months now. I've been horribly injured in some sort of accident. Sometimes it's a car accident (single car vs. fleshy human), sometimes it's a hostage situation kind of thing.

It's not a "horribly injured oh shit I'm going to die" kind of thing, but the dream speeds up to the aftermath, where I have one of my lower arms amputated because of well, whatever happened. And I get it replaced with a prosthetic. Only instead of getting something that looks vaguely normal looking (in an Uncanny Valley sort of way), I get something that looks like it belongs on a Terminator. Metallic 'bones', pistons, that sort of thing.

And there's a doctor saying that they can get me a normal one. And I just look at my new metal arm and say "no no, this will be fine".

I wonder what that says about me. I mean, I've joked about wanting to replace my eyes for years, but that's because I hate wearing glasses.

I suppose "HOLY CRAP, A WOMAN AND A BLACK GUY ARE RUNNING AS REPUBLICANS IN THE DEEP SOUTH!" would do it.

(To note, I'm carping on the article title, rather then most of the content thereof. Someone was asleep at the switch when that one got written.)
