I have a roommate now. He's all moved in and stuff. He's the other third-shifter at the same store I work at, so except for Wednesdays (when we're both at work), if I'm at work, he's at the apartment, and vice-versa.
Work continues to be work, only less so. No, seriously, it's 1 a.m., and I'm done with everything, but I'm here until 8 a.m. A lot of my nights are like that, and I either need to start bringing in books with me again, or a DVD or two. This shouldn't be taken as a desire for eighteen tons of work each night, but I wouldn't mind some 'easy to run/high profit' stuff to do. Hours are being cut a bit for a bunch of my co-workers, because summer is generally our slow months, what with the university being largely shut down. (Yes, there are summer classes, but they are a fraction of the burden of Fall or Spring semester.)
I've actually started trying my hand at cooking. I'm not very good at it yet, but it beats the hell out of going out for fast food all the time. Of course, now I want to get some more cookware so I can do other dishes (I need a steamer... for gyoza), but I'm thinking about trying some sort of chicken stew this weekend. Or maybe the rice/beans/kielbasa recipe I've got the stuff for.
I'm actually thinking that after a few months of having a roommate (and thereby having only to pay half as much rent), I might look into an actual vacation wherein I GO SOMEWHERE. I'm thinking I want to see the Georgia Guidestones before anything else happens to them. Of course, I want a half-decent digital camera before that trip.
Healthwise, I'm doing alright, although my lower back has been bothering me for the last day or two. Nothing out of the ordinary there, unfortunately. And I made it through pollen season without a severe asthma attack or other allergic reaction, so that's good. Otherwise, I think the only thing I need to do for myself is get new glasses. It's been a couple years since I have been to the optometrist, and it's starting to tell.
