When I was a kid, old cartoons (even older now) and tv shows painted the year 2000 as the vast unknowable future. I suppose, in 1977, when I was five, that it certainly seemed that way.

But look at what we don't have yet. No personal jetpacks, no flying cars (although that might not be a bad thing the way some people drive the normal land-bound ones). Space tourism is still marginal. And we haven't been invaded by aliens at all. (Mexicans don't count.)

This is very disappointing.

Okay, so over the "Christmas break" there were no new episodes of House. They showed a new one last week, and then we have to wait until the 30th for another new episode?

Someone dies for this.
