This is supposed to be the future
Jan. 16th, 2007 09:10 amWhen I was a kid, old cartoons (even older now) and tv shows painted the year 2000 as the vast unknowable future. I suppose, in 1977, when I was five, that it certainly seemed that way.
But look at what we don't have yet. No personal jetpacks, no flying cars (although that might not be a bad thing the way some people drive the normal land-bound ones). Space tourism is still marginal. And we haven't been invaded by aliens at all. (Mexicans don't count.)
This is very disappointing.
