Day after Xmas
Dec. 26th, 2006 11:01 amWent down to visit the parents yesterday. Was nice seeing them again. Hell, I think it's been a year since I've seen them, as I didn't go down for my birthday (because I was completely exhausted), and I didn't go down for Thanksgiving as I was sick.
I got the second Pirates of the Carribean movie, which I will probably watch tomorrow. (I may watch the first one beforehand, just for shits and giggles.) I also got a couple of other DVDs (The Transporter, and some crappy sci-fi B-movie, because my mom buys too many DVDs and she is starting to lose track of which ones she already owns... these were duplicates of ones she already had.)
Also, for reasons I cannot fully explain, I was gifted with a Rubik's Cube, a metal slinky (score!) and an off-brand Jenga set. (You know, that game of wooden blocks that you stack up and remove one by one? Yeah, one of those. Only it's not the official Jenga brand. It's unlabeled wooden blocks. Ehhh... I'll use them for something, or they'll be regifted next year to Toys for Tots.)
Also, I cannot warn you all enough. Never, ever get someone an American Express Gift Card. (
mithras, dude, you meant well. But the damned things are chock full of restrictions. But you didn't know that when you got them, so it's cool.)
