So, he's saying that there needs to be a rating system for adult content on the Web. Of course, this is the same nutter who wants to have two "Bridges to Nowhere", so apparently the numerous facts that stand in the way of restricting internet porn fly right over his head.

1) 75% of internet porn is hosted outside the U.S., so U.S. laws can't really affect it. Let's face it... we can only invade so many countries on flimst pretexts. (Although it looks like Bush is lining up for the trifecta of Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran.)

2) Even if there was a "warning label", how effective would it be? Yes, there are people who stumble on porn sites by accident. Yes, there are fake links, redirects, and whatnot. However, Sen. Stevens wants to pit a rating system against the collective libido of minors. Guess who's going to win? The kids, as a group, understand computers far better then their elders, and they will find ways around any road-blocks put in their way between them and viewing whatever perversion they get off on.

What really got me about the article (the Yahoo one), was the quote from the FBI agent. 19 million hits on porn? Yeah, that is impressive.

Until you look up the number of hits on other things.

Pony: 17.2 million
Politicians: 28.6 million.
Nintendo: 40.8 million
iPod: 180 million
George W. Bush: 53.5 million
Ted Stevens: just under 700,000 (Hrm... maybe he's just jealous)
