Wierd night at work...
Sep. 18th, 2004 12:38 pmPretty much the last two weeks we've been slammed. We've had a couple people quit, and apparently a couple more are going to quit.
Needless to say, I've been a bit stressed out by all the work that is left for third shift. (No, it's not left intentionally, but things kind of pile up as the teeming, idiotic masses descend on the store with no goddamn idea of either what they want or the time constraints on that. Hint, showing up five hours before your wedding to get the programs printed is a bad fucking idea.)
So why was last night wierd? Well, I had a lot of work. I was there alone (I work by myself two nights a week)... but I got stuff done. I mean, a lot done. When I left, there were three jobs left that were due today (and two of those were half-finished), one job for tomorrow, and the rest for Monday or later. Of course, there will be more stuff to do when I go in tonight, but for the first time in a couple of weeks, I was able to leave pretty much on time, didn't feel bad about the stuff I left for the other shift, and felt like I accomplished something.
Now if I was only paid more...
