I am very disappointed.
Aug. 15th, 2004 11:07 amIn what? Why, Justice League Unlimited.
It had promise with the first episode. A lot of heroes, a lot of possible ideas. And it may still realize them.
But right now, they have made some seriously fucked-up decisions about episodes.
Let me ask you this: What is the point of adding all these new characters to the show, and then not using them? In the first episode, outside of the hero montage, we got to see Captain Atom, Green Arrow, and Supergirl. The two episodes since should have been Justice League episodes, not Justice League Unlimited. Last week's episode didn't mention the Watchtower, any other members of the League, much less the fact that even if a number of them would have gotten their butts kicked by Mongul, Batman or Wonder Woman could have called in some fucking backup. It may take Superman to beat Mongul, but I damn sure bet Firestorm, Metamorpho, or several others could slow him down or severely stop his plans of beating the shit out of Wonder Woman.
Last night's episode... well, it reaked. There's no simple way to put it. It reaked. I have never liked the "let's reverse the aging process so we can see our favorite heroes as kids" schtick, and this had to be one of the worst examples. First problem was it was all original members (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern). Again, what the fuck is the point of advertising it as "Unlimited" if all you are going to do is use the original characters? Second problem: Okay, they have all their memories, but they act like snotty kids half the episode? I mean, baby Etrigan (yes, you read that correctly), I could minorly tolerate, even if he did look like some fucked up chibi. But the "Pre-teen Justice League" fucking sucked. I mean, for fuck's sake, if they were going to go that with original members of the JL, use the Flash. No one would notice the change in mentality or attitude.
This shit has got to start getting better.
