I'm looking for a map making program, suitable for making fantasy style maps for D&D games. The requirements:

1) Must be able to do somewhat detailed city maps, as well as continental maps.

2) Must not have a manual anywhere near the size of the OED.

3) Must be able to save files as JPEGs, GIFs, or PDFs, or something that can be easily translated to one of those formats.

4) Must have a editable symbol key (like, if I don't want to use the default symbol for a city).

Now, it would be nice if it was free, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Likewise, I'm not made out of money, so if the only one that meets all these requirements (along with any I think of later) is more then $100, well, that would be a problem...

Any help is appreciated.

I don't have to work tonight. I do have to work tomorrow morning. I'm basically swapping the shift with one of the first shift guys, who happens to be in the same position I'm applying for (albeit I'm applying for the second shift time slot of the same job). He says it's because he has plans tomorrow.

I wonder. A test? Genuine? Either way, I don't work tonight. Yippee!
