weekend in review
Apr. 21st, 2003 05:58 pmWent to see "Bulletproof Monk" yesterday with
taser. Pretty good movie, although we both agreed the fight scenes could have been a little longer. Had a discussion later with several friends over stylistic differences between Chow-Yun Fat, Jet Li, and Jackie Chan. We all pretty much agreed that Jackie Chan is, hands down, the most fun to watch.
One of the previews was for "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", which looks pretty damn good, for a movie based off of a Disney ride. (No, I'm not kidding. See here.)
Also, had an interesting conversation and brief poll about soda commercials. I've noticed that Pepsi seems to go all out when it comes to getting stars for their commercials, like Britney Spears, Shakira, those abominable Osbourne children, etc.
Whereas, Coke never seems to show commercials, save at Christmas time.... at least none of the people I asked could recall seeing any Coke commercials recently that didn't have the Christmas bears in them....
