Just one of those things

Ever been in a position where you're not sure how to say something? Like maybe you could say it as insulting as possible, sort of to shock people so as to get your point across? Or maybe play it polite in the hopes that this one time, they'd listen to polite?

*sigh* I have to think about this some more...

So, I couldn't head down to Aiken to have dinner with my parents because I had to work today, and then I end up not going to work because I'm sick. (And the type of "sick" does not lend itself to hour long car trips.)
