Oh, right, like they would say it...

White House denies Bush claimed divine inspiration

Right. After years of lying to us about practically everything else, of course they're going to deny it. Although I'm not certain the big guy (God) wants credit for anything the chimp-in-chief is doing. I mean, let's face it, for all we know it's Cheney working the strings, or rather, with his arm crammed up Bush's ass, working the puppet from within. Hell, it could be the flying spaghetti monster piping thoughts into Bush's head for all we know. The only thing that is certain is that when those thoughts arrive, there's an echo.

Still, couldn't you see Bush claiming God told him to do it? I mean, hell, it gives him leave to claim anything under that kind of nonsense.

"I had to go AWOL because God told me to."
"God told me there were WMDs in Iraq. If you can't trust God, who can you trust?"

...so instead you'll believe something claimed by renowned murderers like Mahmud Abbas!?

Don't react to the rediculous by going to the opposite, yet equally rediculous extreme. There is a middleground, trust me, and the truth lies there.

No, it's more of that I wouldn't be surprised that Bush thinks God told him to do things, and I wouldn't be surprised if the White House denied that Bush thinks God talks to him.

Frankly, just so long as Bush doesn't start attending press conferences without any pants on, I don't care who he claims inspires his random thoughts of stupidity.
