I think the biggest problem is going to be character audits, because under the old system the 10th point in a stat or a skill cost the same as the first point. One point. Under the new system, it's a geometric progression.
Of course, that's going to make auditing a character more difficult no matter what, but the template system for character creation means that if someone does not delineate on their sheet exactly how they spent their template points, it becomes almost impossible to audit correctly.
Of course, it also promotes min-maxing, but I think that was going to happen anyway to an extent, regardless of which system was chosen.

Of course, only the NSTs and NCs had votes that counted....

"Here, add a lump sum of XP to your character" a la Linear is much simplier....

This is the closest way to the current character creation guidelines they could come.
And Im sorry, it might be vaguly retarded, but for us normal level intelligent people its easy. For the stupid ones, its easy.
All you uber-smart geeks dont like it.
Oh well, it was chosen as teh way to do things, if you dont like it, dont play.
I know that sounds bitchy, but the desicion has been made and we cant do anything about it.

You forget, much like everyone else, that this game is filled with average people, more so, then super smart.
You forget the general members. The real ones.
